Amir Cup 2023: Al Shahania Coach Says No Pressure in Tomorrow's Match

Al Shahania SC coach Alvaro Mejia confirmed that his team will play without any pressure in their confrontation with Al Sadd tomorrow at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in the semi-final round of the 51st edition of the Amir Cup 2023.

The coach said during the press conference held today that regardless of tomorrow's result, Al Shahania is proud of its achievement having reached the semi-finals of an important tournament in Qatari football and being the second club from the Second Division to reach this far in this tournament.

Regarding playing on both the Amir Cup and the Second Division's front, the Spanish coach said that his club's priority is to return to the ranks of First Division clubs by winning the Second Division's title, especially that Al Shahania is two points behind the leading Al Khor and Muaither two rounds ahead of the final. However, Mejia added that despite having that priority, Al Shahnia nevertheless still believes in its chances of writing history by advancing to the final match of the Amir Cup, in light of the club's achievement in the current edition.
