bitrate and low bitrate videos

Can you even think about a day without videos or multi-media? Not at all. We are now surrounded by it, and the only option left for us is to understand them. If you have ever visited a sports stadium or a place where there were several people waiting to watch something happening at a far-off place, then you must have seen the projectors and screening area. This screening is a bit different than tv and the organizers need to contact some reliable live transcoder for the live video streaming. Otherwise, it would have been impossible. Transcoding is also a technique related to the change of bitrate. You will learn about it too after reading this article.

Moreover, most of the time we are supposed to change the bitrate of a video only to send or share it with others. Have you ever wondered what we mean by the bitrate of a video? Worry not, regardless of your unawareness you always change this bitrate. However, we believe that anyone who is using such multi-media must know what bitrate is and why it’s important?

What is the video bitrate?

The bitrate means the number of bits per second. The bitrate depicts the quality and the size of a video. If you wish to have a high-quality video then it would come with a higher bit rate. To make a video compatible with some other devices that cannot play the larger video sizes.

So it would be safe to say that a higher bitrate means that more data is being processed so the video quality is comparatively better when the bitrate is high.

When do you need a lower bitrate?

Now, you must be wondering that people should always go for a higher bitrate. Well, it is not true. In some cases, the lower bitrate would be ideal.

Before we tell you the ways to transcode a video it would be better to tell you when you might need to contact some expert or get an application to encode the video.

When storing large files

If you are a video editor or someone who has to manage larger videos. Then it would be better for him to keep the lower bitrate videos. It would be essential because he might not be enabled to rely on a lot of external storage options. Thus, the only way would be using a software or application which can change the bitrate and compress videos.

It will then reduce the size of the videos and there will be more speed for them to use. However, you should ensure that you have already sent the original video to the client, and then you had the bitrate reduced. Otherwise, you might not get to renew the original video.

When sharing files

Have you ever felt stuck only because some software will not let you share a large file in a single go? It is a common issue, and we all tend to confront it whenever it is something important and we cannot help but share the entire video.

So to share the large files the only great option would be lowering the bitrate. So it is a major reason why people tend to search for some reliable video cutting and editing applications.

For live streaming

Live broadcasting requires a strong internet connection, but as it will not be in HD quality. Projecting a live video in full HD will be technically impossible or cost a lot of money. Thus, the only option would be the live encoding of the video.

In stadiums and horse races, the video encoder is required to broadcast live videos. So if you are also into this business, then keep in mind that you are already using such software, or you might need it for a bigger project so you must know the best applications for video encoding.

Which bitrate is the best for you?

Now the question is which bitrate would be best for you to get a moderate quality of the videos. The ideal bitrate would be decided after checking the resolution. For a 1080p resolution, you will need almost 12 Mbps bitrate.

However, for a 720p resolution video, you can consider the 5 Mbps bitrate. One more thing which every one of you should consider is the description by the software. If you want to share or watch on some platform then ensure that you know the best bitrate for that platform. Otherwise, you will not get to enjoy the video quality.
