313 arrested in Qatar

The Ministry of Interior revealed that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations Economic and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department has apprehended 313 people from different nationalities.

They were arrested for recording and distributing unauthorized video clips, spreading false information and rumors, and publishing content aimed at raising public fear or concern in line with official orders.

Those involved have been subject to the necessary legal and administrative measures.

The Ministry of Interior issued a statement on 9 March 2026 reaffirming the critical need to avoid recording, publishing or circulating any video clips or rumours related to these developments, and urged the public to receive information exclusively through official channels recognised by the authorities.

The Ministry also confirmed that the competent authorities will not hesitate to take the necessary legal measures against anyone who is proven responsible for committing such violations.
