As part of the Qatar-France Year of Culture 2020, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to France participated, for the first time, in the 37th edition of the European Heritage Days.

The events were opened on Saturday at the embassy headquarters in central Paris by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani.

On this occasion, the Embassy opened its doors to the public, as number of visitors from Paris and other French regions arrived to the embassy headquarters known as the Landolfo-Carcano palace which was built in 1868. The palace is filled with murals and oily drawn paintings on the walls, as well as sculptures of famous French and European painters.

On the occasion of the Embassy of the State of Qatar's participation in this cultural event this year, a number of French media outlets included the building of Qatar's Embassy in Paris on the list of Parisian buildings that opened their doors to the public on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. The list included the Elysee Palace, the Parliament House, Senate building and Matignon Palace, in addition to a number of the most prominent museums, universities, historical libraries and archaeological sites in the capital Paris.

Qatar embassy's joining this cultural event for the year 2020 comes within the framework of its keenness to highlight the role of the State of Qatar in promoting interest in culture, especially during the Qatar-France Year of Culture, as culture can achieve rapprochement between peoples, in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The participation in this event reflected the relentless endeavor of the State of Qatar to keep the cultural heritage alive within various events and occasions, and it is the best evidence of the depth of friendship between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, and the mutual understanding and consolidated support between the two countries and the two peoples.
