Qatar to start giving cash assistance to 100,000 Gaza families today

Starting today until about two weeks, Qatar will distribute cash aid (amounting to $100 per family) to the needy families in the Gaza Strip.

According to HE the Chairman of the Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza ambassador Mohamed al-Emadi, the distribution process will be done through the post offices in the governorates of the Gaza Strip for 100,000 families.

The cash assistance is being implemented in co-operation with the competent government agencies to meet safety standards for beneficiaries and to maintain sufficient distance between them, as part of preventive measures to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

Al-Emadi added that each beneficiary can claim the cash aid on specific receiving dates to avoid crowding.
