Qatar remains 55th in FIFA World Ranking

Qatar maintained its spot at 55 in FIFA world rankings, it emerged on June 11.

Ranked 57 at the beginning of the year, Qatar is now a notch above West African powerhouse Mali at 56. The reigning Asian champions have accumulated 1396 points.

No significant change in the FIFA ranking was noticed as international matches have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.




Qatar is scheduled to take on India  on October 8 in their next 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying round game which would be their first international fixture amid the coronavirus pandemic. They will then host Bangladesh.

Once again, Belgium came out on top (1,765 pts), followed by France (1,733), Brazil (1,712) and England (1,661).
