Qatar Airways Offers Free Transport of Medical Aids to Iran

Qatar Airways is waiving its transport charges to all the people and government who intend to donate medical supplies to the Republic of Iran.

After China and Italy, Iran is one of the world's most affected countries by coronavirus (COVID-19).



H E Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Secretary-General of QNTC, has announced the airline's offer. He is personally overseeing the loading of 6 tons of the country's medical aid  to Iran in a Qatar Airways cargo plane.

"Qatar Airways is always available if my government- the government of the State of Qatar- decides to transport medical supplies and medical equipment to all the people all over the world that are in need," said H E Al Baker.

According to him, Qatar is known for its humanitarian service and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is always helping the people in need all over the world. He added that Qatar Airways is just doing its part in this supply chain.

The airlines’ subsidiary, Qatar Cargo, will deliver all the medical supplies with its climate control cargo centre at the Hamad International Airport.

With 24/7 operations at HIA and around the world, Qatar Cargo transports a variety of essential goods, supports global trade and commerce, and transports fresh food and livestock with utmost care. Apart from fresh produce, it also delivers time-critical and temperature-sensitive goods.
