In today’s News hour Jennifer Rogers Shared light on how Qatar Amir issues directive to send field hospitals to blast-hit Beirut His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has issued a directive to send field hospitals to Beirut after hundreds of people were reported to have been injured in explosions that rocked the Lebanese capital on Tuesday. HH the Amir held via telephone a conversation with Lebanon's President, during which His Highness expressed his condolences to the President and the brotherly Lebanese people on the victims of the explosion in Beirut port, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
HH the Amir expressed the State of Qatar's solidarity with Lebanon and its willingness to provide all kinds of assistance necessary to mitigate the effects of this explosion.
HE the Lebanese President expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for his stance and the State of Qatar's permanent standing and continuous support to Lebanon.
Further she informed how Qatar Charity Contributes to Morocco’s COVID-19 Response Fund
Doha-based NGO Qatar Charity has made a financial contribution to Morocco’s Special Fund for the Management and Response to COVID-19.
 
The embassy of Qatar in Rabat facilitated the transfer of the aid package to Morocco’s coronavirus response fund, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
The assistance for Morocco aligns with Qatar Charity’s campaign to support several countries’ COVID-19 response and occurred in coordination with government authorities.
Qatar Charity launched its “Call of Humanity” initiative in March to support efforts to combat the pandemic across the globe.
 
King Mohammed VI ordered the creation of Morocco’s COVID-19 response fund on March 15 to strengthen the country’s health infrastructure and mitigate the social and economic impacts of the pandemic. The King established the fund with an initial sum of MAD 10 billion ($1 billion). 
 
The fund has since more than tripled in size thanks to contributions from public and private sector institutions and individuals, and from foreign governments and institutions.
