Ministry books more than 350 individuals for violating Covid-19 preventive measures

The designated authorities of Ministry of Interior (MOI) have booked 369 people to the Public Prosecution for violating the preventive and precautionary measures imposed in the State of Qatar by the government to curb the further spread of the surging novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Among the booked 369 individuals, 216 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not using the mandatory face masks in the public arenas, while 13 were booked for violating the maximum number of people permitted in a vehicle, which is specified as four persons, including the driver, except when they are members the of same household. 138 individuals were booked for not maintaining to the safe and physical distancing, and 2 individuals were booked for not have the Ehteraz applications installed in their mobile phones.
The measure is in accordance with the Cabinet decision, Decree Law No. 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The designated officials of the ministry urged all the citizens and residents in the country to follow the compulsory preventive measures in the country to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
