Back to School campaign organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the academic year 2019/2020 kicked off in its second venue at KidZania Doha.  

KidZania Doha, behind Hyatt Plaza, is the second headquarters of the campaign and the activities are held daily from 3pm to 10pm except weekend when they will be held from 3pm to 11pm.

The opening of the campaign at KidZania Doha was attended by Ali Jassim Al Kuwari, head of the Adult Education Section at the Ministry; Hassan Abdulla Al Mohammadi, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry; Hamad Merheb, Head of Information at the Ministry; Ric Fearnett, Director General of Qatar Entertainment and Director of KidZania Doha, and a number of campaign supervisors and organizers from the Department of Public Relations and Communication.

“Back to School campaign is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education before the beginning of the school year, in order to prepare students and parents to receive the new academic school year.  The various activities attract students and prepares them in terms of educational and recreational before the start of school,” Al Kuwari said.

Ric Fearnett pointed out that KidZania Doha is honoured to host the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to launch the annual ‘Back to School’ campaign. “We are organising many educational and recreational activities for children and distributing many gifts to share joy with students.”

He added: “We also add to our activities a healthy life and health system in general, and we have an art school that includes drawing, arts and crafts activities, where children can make a school bus from paper.”  “Through our participation in campaign, we are aiming to provide the best services and activities in line with the educational mission of the Ministry,” Ric Fearnett said adding that  students and children between the ages of two to 14 years and enjoy a realistic experience, through which they learn how to play roles and the importance of work and how to make money, communication and team play.

Dalal Al Abdullah, from the Ministry and supervisor of the campaign, said: “Back to School campaign in its sixth edition is a special task, and the Ministry with KidZania Doha, provided students and children many activities helping them to innovate and learn different skills and self-confidence.”
