Asian Cup host UAE fined $150K for fans targeting Qatar

Asian Cup have the United Arab Emirates has been fined $150,000 for fan unfortunate behavior amid the  team's semifinal loss to eventual champion Qatar.

The Asian Football Confederation says incidents included fans in Abu Dhabi "making offending sounds" amid Qatar's national anthem. 

Qatar players evaded shoes tossed by certain observers after the second objective in a 4-0 defeat at Mohammed canister Zayed Stadium. 


The politically charged diversion was played on January 29 following year and a half of the barricade of Qatar by antagonistic territorial neighbors, including the UAE. 

The Asian soccer body says UAE fans additionally "got into a battle among themselves after the match," and one ran onto the field. 

The UAE should play its first home qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup in a vacant arena.
