Ashghal announces Temporary closure on Jeryan Nejaima Street from today

From June 13, The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) going to implement a temporary closure on part of Jeryan Nejaima Street in the two directions, from its intersection with Awjab Al Dakhla Street until the intersection with Al Tarfa Street. 

The closure will be set up until end of October 2019, in a joint effort with the General Directorate of Traffic. 

During this period, eastward vehicles on Al Tarfa Street making a heading for Jeryan Nejaima Street should take a right into Umm Al Megareen Street, at that point left to Awjab Al Dakhla Street and to Jeryan Nejaima Street. Street users heading from Jeryan Nejaima Street to Al Tarfa Street should go left to Awjab Al Dakhla Street, at that point right to Umm Al Megareen Street and to Al Tarfa Street. 


The temporary closure is a piece of Al Tarfa Intersection development works, which intend to expand the intersection’s ability capacity giving extra paths. It additionally looks to improve the road lighting, upgrade the stormwater and TSE networks, install interlock, giving landscaping, and ensure Ooredoo and Kahramaa lines under the streets. 

So as to minimise the effect of the construction works on traffic movement on Al Tarfa Street, Ashghal will later close just a single path of the road in each phase of the construction.
