Hours earlier today, 100MB Master Blaster, the unique mobile application that caters to tens of millions of cricket fans across the globe and envisioned by Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, announced in video clip by the Master Blaster that the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy (TMGA) has officially launched its first-ever facility at the D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
TMGA is a visionary venture by Sachin and the English county Middlesex who have joined forces to launch an academy to teach young cricket aspirants, both girls and boys, between the ages of nine and 14 through a curriculum developed by the coaches at the county and Tendulkar himself.
The academy provides the best in cricket education equipped with world-class coaching sessions, high-quality training facilities, an excellent learning environment, and a team of elite coaches. And when these are combined with the remarkable infrastructure of D Y Patil Sports Academy, a global platform is created for young aspiring cricketers to hone their skills and techniques.
Wearing a light blue jeans material shirt, Sachin commenting on the launch of this initiative, said, "I am delighted to be partnering with Middlesex Cricket on this new venture. The objective is not only to produce good cricketers but also good global citizens of the future. Through this association, Middlesex and I are focused on providing the very best in cricket education, as much as possible, for our students."
“I am now proud to announce the launch TMGA’s first full-fledged academy and sports centre at the world class facility at D Y Patil in Navi Mumbai. I hope this centre will encourage everybody to adopt sports as an active part of life and thus play a role in transforming India from a sports loving nation to a sports playing nation.”
While lauding the ‘overwhelmingly positive response today’ the academy has received, Sachin remarked that the bigger vision is along with other cricket academies to built sports centres and clubs around to the world where one can access multi-sports facilities.
The D Y Patil Stadium is a state-of-the-art sports facility that incorporates the best-practices of cricket stadium from all over the globe with a capacity of 45,000 people and India’s first and largest fabric roof that has been imported from Germany.
The nursery ground has 10 practice pitches and to minimise rain interruption, the outfield is sand based and a completely concealed underground drainage system helps to remove water very quickly.
TMGA begun with the launch of its first cricket camp at Merchant Taylor's School in Northwood on August 6, 2018, with plans to open more such facilities in Mumbai and London.
