The Ajyal Film Festival returns through a hybrid edition with a variety of events taking place both online, and physically under the highest precautionary safety measures.
Our signature events are all back with an incredible selection of world cinema, the acclaimed Made in Qatar programme, the Ajyal Creativity Hub featuring Geekdom, Ajyal Tunes and the Ajyal Talks series.
There’s also an exciting new Ajyal Drive-in Cinema in Lusail and this year’s intriguing multimedia exhibition is entitled ‘Outbreak’.

FIBA 3x3 Basketball 2020
To all basketball fans out there, here is great news for you! The sporting event will be taking place at Al Gharafa Beach Games Area from 3:10 pm onwards.

Three unique exhibitions await you at Mathaf Museum!
- Yto Barrada: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nougat
This exhibition brings together photographs, films, sculptures, prints, and fabric works that focus on threads of regeneration and growth in social and geological transformation.
- Huguette Caland: Faces and Places
This exhibition features seven decades of paintings, drawings, caftans, smocks, and sculptures, including never-before-exhibited paintings, and the first caftan Caland created.
- Lived Forward: Art and Culture in Doha from 1960-2020
This exhibition looks at generations of artists, intellectuals, and cultural activists who played a major role in activating Doha’s cultural scene from August 2 to November 30, 2020 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at Education City, Qatar Foundation

Yto Barrada: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nougat
Currently displayed at Mathaf is Yto Barrada's exhibition composed of photographs, films, videos, sculptures, prints, and fabric works that focus on "threads of regeneration and growth in social and geological transformation". The works highlight the importance of the vernacular in processes of decomposition and revival, drawing on histories of nation-building and post-independence strategies of resistance in social and domestic life.
