Chelsea's Giroud signs one-year contract extension

Olivier Giroud has marked another one-year contract with Chelsea to broaden his stay at Stamford Bridge until the finish of next season, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. 

The 32-year-old French striker has scored 17 objectives in 62 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Arsenal in January, 2018. 

"I am glad to sign another agreement," Giroud told the club's site. 

"I truly needed to remain at any rate one more year - I have felt a piece of the group, the family, since the start and ideally there will be more trophies to come." 


France worldwide Giroud is the Europa League's joint top scorer this season with 10 objectives. He is the first Chelsea player to hit twofold figures for objectives in a solitary period of European football.
