Movenpick hotel Doha goes dark for Earth Hour

Movenpick Hotel Doha switched off their lights in support of world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment. The earth hour was marked on 30th March from 8.30 pm.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm as a symbol of commitment to the planet. It was started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then, it has grown to engage more than 7,000 cities and towns across 187 countries and territories to raise awareness for energy consumption and effects on the environment

General Manager, Mr. Sami Aawar said, “A simple gesture towards this significant movement can contribute generously towards the environment, and we are glad to have been actively participating for the same since years. We believe in supporting environmental sustainability to the fullest. ”

Contemporary, convenient and perfectly positioned, the upscale Mövenpick Hotel Doha is ideal for business travelers. Just 11km from Hamad International Airport and minutes from the business district, this hotel is centrally located on the prominent Corniche Road opposite the iconic Museum of Islamic Arts.
