Beach Club at Qetaifan Island North to be ready by early next year

The Beach Club facilities located at the upcoming Qetaifan Island North (Qatar’s first entertainment island) will be ready by early next year, while the other facilities, such as the hotel, aqua park and other amenities to be built under Phase One of at the entertainment island, are scheduled to be completed by November 2021, according to a senior official of the ambitious project.

The man-made island is part of Lusail city consisting of seven beaches, making it a distinctive waterfront of the city. The island has an area of 1.3 million sqm, and the island’s projects span approximately 830,000sqm, offering multiple opportunities of investment for local and international companies.

“The Beach Club, which will be operated by Rixos Hotels, will have all the facilities, including cafes, restaurants, bars, Spa and others. I want to add that within the first quarter of next year the Beach Club will be fully operational. The project will be developed in a phased manner, and the first phase will be completed by November 2021,” Sheikh Nasser Abdulaziz Al Thani (pictured), Officer Business Development, told The Peninsula recently.

Asked about the major investors, Sheikh Nasser said that the names of main investors will be revealed at the appropriate time and negotiations with some of them are still in the initial stages. But the main investor will be Rixos International. They will be the main operator of the hotel, water park, linear park, beach club and other facilities in the island.

Commenting further on the potential investors, he added: “We are aiming to target local as well as multinational investors for the reason that under the new law the Lusail City will be a freehold, which allows 100 percent foreign direct investment (FDI) in the villas and other real estate properties and facilities.” He noted that the unique water park will be one of the main attractions and key drivers in the entertainment island. It will have the capacity to serve over 15,000 people, and the hotel will have over 350 keys, and the linear park will provide water taxis for the people and fans interested to watch games at the iconic Lusail Stadium which will be hosting the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The island is located within 4-5km away from the iconic Lusail Stadium.

“Currently we are offering 10 beach access facilities, garden view and water front facilities. This is an opportunity for investors seeking to reserve or buy the plots in the island which has promising future,” added Sheikh Nasser.


“We are developing the first entertainment island in Qatar and hope to become the family-friendly island, a place which will have nice community areas, including mosques, schools, and a medical centre.” In addition to the water park, beach club linear par, it will also have other attractions such as downtown, entertainment plaza, retail plaza, Arabian Souq among others. The school at Qetaifan Island will be the first to have direct access to the sea.

He also said that it’s a unique project in the country, especially in terms of energy efficiency and environment. It will also have state-of-the-art facilities providing great experience to people of all ages, including those physically challenged.

Qetaifan Projects Company is a subsidiary of Katara Hospitality, which was established to develop and manage the Qetaifan Island North.
