Qatar Museums Invites Long Term Residents to Be Honorary Cultural Ambassadors

Qatar Museum (QM) launched a unique community ambassador program inviting long term residents to become the Honorary Cultural Ambassadors (HCA) of the country. The designation will signify an appreciation of the residents’ dedication and belonging to the Qatari community as well as their commitment to the local culture, QM said.  

The program aims to enhance the visitor experience of  eminent guests to Qatar with the HCAs accompanying VIP guests on tours of cultural sites, offering their own views and interpretations. 



The chosen HCAs will get an opportunity to  delve deep into various aspects of Qatar through lectures about art, heritage, culture and history. Attending these lectures, which will be conducted on two afternoons, is mandatory. HCAs will have to spend five days for privileged VIP tours of QM museums, exhibitions, heritage sites and other sites of interest. Two visits are mandatory.    

Those who are residing in Qatar for more than five years are eligible to apply for the program. They should be proficient in English and at least one more foreign language. Knoweldge of Arabic is preferred. A bachelor degree qualification will also help. Good communication and social skills and interest and knowledgeable in Qatar's art, heritage, culture and history is a necessity. They should be available to accompany the VIP guests upon request and attend the training program.
