Qatar, Brazil keen on developing bilateral relations

His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, met with Mayor of Brazil's Sao Paulo, Joao Doria and his accompanying delegation on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and discussed aspects of joint cooperation and means to develop them especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment, as reported by The Peninsula.

It may be mentioned that Qatar and Brazil share a number of trade agreements that were signed in 2010 in Brasilia, comprising of a trade and economic cooperation agreement, agreement on the establishment of a cooperation committee between the two governments. 

In fact, Brazil turned out to be Qatar’s 18th trade partner when the trade volume between both countries reached almost QR4bn in 2015.

 

Meanwhile, the Minister also met with the Director General of Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Charito Plaza and her accompanying delegation. 

They reviewed bilateral relations and discussed aspects of joint cooperation and means to develop them in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

Qatar and Philippines also signed a trade, economic and technical cooperation agreement.
