HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday issued a decree appointing H.E. Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and H.E. Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani as Deputy Prime Ministers. Ministers will also retain their current portfolios, said a report by QNA.

Both Deputy Prime Ministers took their oath on Tuesday itself before HH the Emir at the Emiri Diwan. HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and H.E. Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani attended the ceremony.

The present cabinet reshuffle follows a decree by HH the Emir last week which assigned HE Minister of Justice Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Mohannadi additional portfolio of cabinet affairs while retaining the Justice Ministry with him. HE the Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud was holding the post of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.
