Al Jasra Cultural and Social Club, one of the oldest literary clubs in the Arab world, has launched a rare postage exhibition on Thursday. Organized in cooperation with the Youth Center for Hobbies, the one-week exhibition will last till September 28.

Exhibition will provide philatelists an opportunity to get a peek into hundreds of rare postage stamps from across the world. Visitors can also learn about the historical development of countries, including Qatar, through the stamps. It will also provide an insight into how this hobby, one of the most popular ones in the world, turned into a trade with wealthy people acquiring rare stamps.

The exhibition is part of Al Jasra Club's mission of supporting any initiatives that advance the Arab mind and intellect, said a report in QNA. The club, established in the 1960s, hosted many writers and intellectuals from all over the Arab world and publishes Al Jasra magazine.
