For working mothers, the only relief is to leave their toddlers at a nursery where they will be looked after.

But more often than not we keep coming across horror stories of nursery staff treating kids in horrific ways.

This is what happened to a US mom, Jessica Hayes, who shared the disturbing images on social media showing her 17-month-old daughter with the pink shoes taped on after she was picked up from Pleasant Hill Daycare in North Carolina.

She wrote: "Someone was clearly upset that she was learning to take her shoes off and done it out of being aggravated."

"This was also not just her shoes being taped up it was around her ankle, my 17-month-old child was unable to say anything," Hayes wrote. "This was left on long enough and tight enough to leave marks, cause swelling, and bruise."

According to reports, after the post went viral, two staff members were fired and a note was sent out to parents as an apology.
