A 25-year-old man from Gatwick was able to sneak into an easyJet plane going to Geneva, Switzerland after he missed his own flight last Sunday.

Some of the passengers had to be transferred to another flight after the crew discovered the unidentified man inside the toilet of the plane just before take off.

It was understood that the man lost track of time in the departure lounge which caused him to miss his own flight, so he boarded a different one hoping for an empty seat inside. Upon realizing that the seats were all filled, he tried to hide inside the toilet instead.

After the plane was completely checked, the passengers still refused to get on board out of fear. According to Metro, the authorities have started investigating how someone managed to get on a flight that wasn’t theirs.

As for easyJet, they released a statement that read: “easyJet can confirm that on November 12 a flight from London Gatwick to Geneva was met by the police due to a passenger who incorrectly boarded the aircraft. ‘The crew correctly identified the passenger should not be on board and immediately reported it to the police. We have taken this up with our ground staff and an investigation has been launched. ‘easyJet works closely with all of our airports to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and staff. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s number one priority.”
