IAP Announces Qatar National Day Events at Asian Town

Ibn Ajayan Projects (IAP), managers of Asian Town, announced today that Asian Town is all set to celebrate Qatar National Day on 18th December 2017.  An array of festive activities are organized to bring Qatar alive and to mark this momentous occasion of the State of Qatar, which falls on 18 December every year.

A series of events that reflect the country’s heritage, culture, and traditions are organized at Asian Town by Ibn Ajayan Projects. There will be community events in association with Ministry of Interior. 


IAP is organizing Al Ardha, a traditional Arabic sword dance on 18th December from 6 pm to 9 pm in front of Plaza Mall. Al Ardha, a celebratory dance that symbolizes strength and unity, where all visitors will be welcomed and encouraged to participate alongside the dancers, a true representation of solidarity within the community. There will be Debka, Thanoora, Stilt Walker, Kawa (Arabic Coffee) Takers following Ardha performance.

The programs are organized in different locations of Asian Town, including outside yard at cricket stadium, entrance of Plaza Mall gates etc. There is a stage show by Nepali artists, “Bhojpuri Maithili Night”, inside the Asian Town Amphitheater on national Day. 

Asian Town Cricket stadium is also prepared to entertain the cricket lovers in Qatar as it is scheduled for three international matches on 15th, 16th and 18th December. World cricket stars from India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh are playing on Asian Town Cricket Stadium ground in these days. On the National Day the entry is free for public.

The preparations are in full swing and the whole Asian Town is getting a makeover with all the streets getting adorned with the national flags.
