5 current La-Liga superstars who should return to the Premier League

Before their move to Spain, some of the current crop of La-Liga superstars actually found their roots in the English Premier League. These footballers have achieved great feats with their current club’s in Spain but can find a new challenge in their careers with a move back to England. Let’s take a look 5 such superstars who need should return to their former Premier League club.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese superstar is one of world’s most valuable sports person and has gained superstardom after his  £80 million move to Real Madrid in 2009. Cristiano spent 7 seasons at Old Trafford helping the club lift the Premier League as well as Champions League before heading to the Spanish capital. The Portuguese forward also won the first of his four Ballon d'Or’s in 2008 while in the Premier League. The 32-year-old has scored 406 goals in 394 appearances for the Los Blancos so far and has won almost every trophy there is at Real Madrid. Having achieved everything he could have at in his career, Cristiano Ronaldo should now look to go back to the club which gave him a platform and the opportunity to become the superstar that he is today. The Red Devils could also use the services of the Portuguese forward as they look to get back to their former glory.

Luka Modric

The Croatian midfielder is also amongst the group of players who caught the world’s attention with his performances at Tottenham FC in the Premier League. His £30 million move from White Hart Lane to the Santiago Bernabeu cost Real Madrid £30 million but worth every penny as he cemented his place in the midfield of amongst the likes of Xabi Alonso and Toni Kroos. He played a massive role in their 2013-14 Champions League victory and was also part of Champions League team of the season. Modric should certainly consider a move to Tottenham, who have been enjoying massive success in the last couple of seasons but just falling short of a title. Perhaps Modric can help them Premier League triumph for the first time in their history.

Gareth Bale

The Real Madrid and Wales forward was at one point the most expensive footballer on Earth after signing for Real Madrid in a deal worth £85.3 million back in 2013. His sensational season with Tottenham FC in the 2012-13 campaign helped him move to the Spanish club later that year. After his transition from a full back into a winger, Bale has transformed into one f Europe most lethal attackers also making him one of the most sought after footballers on earth. Tottenham could perhaps consider a switch with Dele Alli going to Real Madrid and Bale coming back to the White Hart Lane.

Luis Suarez

Despite his controversial behaviour on the pitch, Luis Suarez is undoubtedly one of the best footballers on the planet at the moment. No wonder Barcelona shelled out £75 million for the Uruguay international back in 2014. The former Liverpool striker almost helped his former club win they're first ever Premier League trophy in the 2013-14 season but only managed to get second place in the end after a sensational individual season where he scored 31 goals in the League alone. Luis Suarez achieved an incredible feat by winning the treble in hs first season with the FC Barcelona while also matching the likes of Messi and Neymar in terms of goals. Having already achieved so much at Barcelona, Suarez might want to move back to the Merseyside and help Jurgen Klopp and his squad achieve the club’s first ever Premier League title or even a Champions League title.

Gerard Pique

The Spain international defender was Manchester United between 2004 and 2008 where he made 23 senior appearances before finally returning to Barcelona in 2008 ina deal worth £5 million. Pique failed to impress in the Premier League during his spell at Old Trafford but his move back to Barcelona helped him reach his potential as he is now considered to be one of the best defenders in Europe. He replaced the Barcelona legend Carles Puyol as the club’s first choice centre-back after his retirement and since never looked back. With Jose Mourinho piecing together his defensive line at Old Trafford, perhaps bringing back the former Red Devil could help sort Manchester United’s defence one and for all.
