7 Unusual Uses of Olive Oil You Didn't Know About

No doubt olive oil has amazing benefits. Due to its multi-purpose use, it is used for baking and frying, salad dressing and so on.But olive oil has lots of uses beyond food. Olive oil has versatile use around the rest of the house apart from kitchen.

1. De-gunking

Olive oil is used as a label remover and also used to remove the tough sticky labels. To remove the label, pull the label off as best as you can. Rub the remaining sticky label using olive oil. Let it be there for 10-20 minutes and it will get clean easily by rubbing.Just wash the too much oil with warm and soapy water and you are all ready to use that glass jars.

2. Moisturizing

Just rub a few drops of olive oil on wet skin or add a couple of tablespoons to your bath water for smooth skin without harmful chemicals which is found in store-bought moisturizers.Moisturize your skin using olive oil, use little bit of oil at first , then start rubbing more oil if needed.

3. Prevent Kitty Hairballs

If your kitten is leaving hairballs all over the house, then put ¼ teaspoon olive oil in your cat's food to prevent the hairballs from falling.


4. Dry Scalp Treatment

Olive oil is the best moisturizer for dry scalp. Put about ½ teaspoon olive oil on your fingertips and massage it on your scalp to help sooth the dry skin. If your hair feels oily then wash it after some time.

5. Washing Your Face

6. Cleaning Stainless Steel Surfaces

You can use oil on a rag to renew the shine in dull stainless steel surfaces like sink, faucets and so on. Just use the rag that has some texture like terrycloth. Friction help you get a good shine.

7. DIY Furniture Polish

Just mix olive oil with lemon juice in 2 : 1 ratio to create your own furniture polish.Mix and shake the mixture and combine it really well. Just pour it into rag to apply it to finished wood furniture
