Ankara, October 25, 2026 : The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have called for urgent action to implement a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, describing Israel’s occupation as a key source of instability in the region and beyond.
In a joint statement issued following a meeting of the four-country group in Istanbul on Friday, the ministers said Israeli policies had deepened perceptions of injustice among people worldwide. They reaffirmed their commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in line with the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter.
The ministers called for an immediate end to ongoing Israeli violence, attempts to change the historical and legal status of Jerusalem, and the destruction and humanitarian suffering in Palestine. They also condemned settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as violence by settlers against Palestinians.
They stressed the need to ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip and support reconstruction efforts.
On Yemen, the ministers strongly condemned what they described as an unacceptable escalation by the Houthi group, including continued attacks on Saudi Arabia, particularly those targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. They also denounced attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab Al Mandeb Strait.
The four countries expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government, urging the Houthis to halt military actions, threats and attacks immediately and return to the political process in good faith.
Addressing the military conflict involving the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, along with developments surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, the ministers called for a resolution through dialogue and diplomacy. They emphasised the need to protect civilians, civilian infrastructure and vessels from attacks.
The statement also welcomed a memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad and ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation, while reaffirming the importance of reaching a lasting negotiated settlement.
The ministers underscored that freedom of navigation and long-term maritime safety and security must be preserved. They warned that disruptions to shipping routes threaten global security and prosperity by affecting supply chains and the movement of energy, fertilisers and food, with particularly severe consequences for vulnerable populations.
They rejected measures that obstruct lawful navigation and called for the swift and full restoration of safe, unimpeded passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
The four ministers agreed to maintain close consultations and coordination on the issues addressed in the joint statement.
