25th anniversary celebration of Qatar Foundation
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Qatar Foundation (QF), HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, spoke yesterday during a special panel discussion entitled "The Untold Stories of Qatar Foundation".
During the discussion, HH Sheikha highlighted the personal and national motivations that inspired her to establish QF for above 25 years, with challenges during the journey of the founding. This stemmed from making components of pre-university education at the moment of founding Qatar Academy and achieving a balance between heritage and modernity. This included engaging in negotiations with partner international universities that constituted an extremely tough challenge, until building a culture of scientific research and innovation in order to support the State's path toward building a sustainable future.
HH Sheikha said: "Our belief in the success of QF as a project has been deep-rooted, despite the challenges and curves that we faced at the beginning of our journey more than 25 years ago. In 2005, on the day Education City opened, we promised that tomorrow would be here. And, indeed, tomorrow was made at QF."
