Indian Embassy warns residents carrying medicines while travelling

The Indian Embassy in the State of Qatar issued an advisory for residents who carries medicines while travelling and has cautioned regarding the usage.

The embassy said that medicines which contain narcotics or psychotropic substances are highly prohibited and will not be allowed upon their arrival to Doha.

These include medicines like Lyrica, Tramadol, Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Zolam, Clonazepam, Zolpidem, Codeine, Methadone, Pregabalin. You can get the full list of the banned medicines in the website of Indian Embassy.

The Indian embassy also reminded about the legal measures that will be taken if forbidden medicines are carried to the country as the violation will lead to arrest and jail sentence.

All the illegal medicines that are not banned and meant for personal use must have a proper prescription just for 30 days from a recognised doctor and a reputed hospital.
