31st Edition of Doha International Book Fair

 

The Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center (QCHEC) announced on Saturday that the 31st edition of Doha International Book Fair will be organized from January 13 to 22, 2022.

As part of the Qatar-USA Culture Year 2021, US will be the guest of honour for the event, and according to a tradition that have been introduced since 2010 by selecting a country to be the guest of honour of the event, 

The United States of America (USA) will be the guest of honour of the upcoming international book event as part of the Qatar-USA Culture Year 2021, where USA was the first guest of honour followed by Turkey, Iran, Japan, Brazil, Germany, and France at the 30th round.

QCHEC has announced the commencement of registration for all those wanting to take part in the international event and will go until November 1, 2021. The deadline for submitting the passports of participants’ representatives will be November 15 and deadline for paying participation fee will be November 18. 

QCHEC also announced that receiving cargoes will begin on September 15, 2021 and will continue to receive until January 2, 2022. The stalls shall be emptied by January 23, 2022 and many executive committees for conducting the event including the technical and the culture committees, besides the management of institutional communications and the events management committee has also been formed. 

In order to apply for taking part in this event, the participants can visit the website www.dohabookfair.qa and can submit an application which indicates that the applicant accepts the terms and conditions for participation mentioned on the website.

Applications might or might not be received by the management according to the legal procedures by not indicating any reasons or without liabilities. 

In addition to the given regulations, all participants must strictly adhere to the mandatory precautionary measures enforced by the government in order to prevent the further spread of the ongoing pandemic caused by Covid-19. 

The prices of the books should be posted in Qatari Riyals after deducting the 25% decided on by the management. In addition, all the books and titles on display at the fair should not conflict with the Islamic creed and principles and the values and traditions of the Qatari society.

Only the printed and educational copies will be given put to the participants and other means of audio-visual products and toys are not encouraged to bring inside the event.
