The Armed Forces celebrated the arrival of the training vessel for candidates "Doha", coming from Istanbul in the sisterly Republic of Turkey, under the patronage and presence of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah and HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad Al Nabit.

The vessel sailed from the Republic of Turkey on Nov. 14, and was greeted upon arrival at Hamad Port by Commander of Mohammed Bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy Brig. Gen. Khalid Nasser Al Hajri.

The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming speech from the Academy Commander, followed by an inspection tour of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs to the training vessel.

The vessel was inaugurated in August last year in the presence of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, based on the contract signed at DIMDEX-2018 with the factory Anadolu Shipyard, one of the Turkish defense industry companies.

"Doha" vessel is considered one of the largest training vessels in the world, and will constitute an important tributary for the practical training of the candidate students at Mohammed Bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy, through the high training capabilities and techniques provided by the vessel.

The reception ceremony was attended by a number of senior officers of the Armed Forces.
