Ministry announces timings for kindergartens and government schools in Qatar

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education Qatar greeted students on the first day back to school with best wishes for another successful academic day as well as a new term.

The statement, published on March 28, 2026 confirmed the school working hours for kindergartens and government schools approved by the Ministry of Education in addition to indicating that private schools will inform parents of its own timings based on their organization independent schooling systems.

In addition to these, the Ministry has reaffirmed that it prioritises student safety as a shared responsibility and extended a wish for continued success and achievement from all students.

The timings provided by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education are:

Kindergarten: Daily, 7 am to 12:30 pm
Primary stage: Daily, 7 am to 12:45 pm, except Thursday until 12:30 pm
Preparatory stage: Daily, 7 am to 1:30 pm, except Thursday until 12:40 pm
Secondary stage: Daily, 7 am to 1:30 pm, except Thursday until 12:45 pm
