Of what can be called an intriguing experience, a 52-year-old woman, who was apparently on a holiday with her family in South Africa, captured one of rarest pictures anyone could think of – a sun-loving hippo, who was having a relaxing experience in the water.

The hippo was lying on its back with its legs in the air, enjoying the best of nature’s plenty.

The height of relaxation: The hippo was seen sunning its bright pink belly

At first photographer Jackie Cilliers thought the animal was injured, but it later turned out to be chilling out in the water

The incident happened in the Kruger National Park of South Africa when photographer Jackie Cilliers experienced this strange incident.

A report by Mail Online has Jackie saying, “At first I thought that it might be injured or ill, but it happened several times and remained stationary on its back for several minutes at a time.”

She also said that the hippo was accompanied by its partner whom he seemed to push away, to risk being attacked by it.

The lazy hippo had company as he assumed his unusual pose, which had several people chuckling

Jackie was in love with the pictures she could click of the huge animal. So much so that she doubts if she can ever experience such a moment again in her life.
