The Al Khor branch of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) held numerous lectures and courses at schools, youth centres and the branch in the month of April, benefitting 410 students, 70 ladies and more than 500 visitors at the Librtha Maritime Festival.

The branch also held oral health lectures at Al Khor Model Kindergarten for Boys and Al Thakhira Model Independent School for Boys, to mark World Oral Health Day.

Participants were taught about oral health, ways to prevent cavity, correct use of toothbrush and toothpaste and the importance of eating healthy food.

Moreover, a lecture on obesity and nutrition was also given to the students of Abdullah Bin Ali Al Misnad Independent School, wherein a QRCS trainer explained the benefits of a balanced diet, importance of vegetables and fruits, and the negative impact of junk food.

A lecture on first-aid was hosted to focus on the ways to control nosebleed and other bleeds, the right way of handling a fracture/injury and the measure to take in cases of asthma or suffocation, as reported by the Qatar Tribune.

QRCS also partnered with the Daawa and Religious Guidance Department to deliver lectures on responsible behaviour and on volunteering and helping others.

Two ambulances, medical staff and life guards were also provided by the Al Khor branch of QRCS to cover the Librtha Maritime Festival.
