HH the Emir of Qatar issues Emiri Decision to appoint new Board of Directors for QCB

His Higness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued on Wednesday the Emiri Decision No 14 of 2017 for appointing new Board of Directors of Qatar Central Bank (QCB).


The decision stipulates that the board shall be chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, the Governor of QCB and His Excellency Sheikh Fahad bin Faisal bin Thani al-Thani, Deputy Governor - Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The other members would comprise of His Excellency the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh  Mohamed Salem al-Nabit; His Excellency Dr Ibrahim al-Ibrahim, His Excellency Khalaf Ahmad al-Manai, the representative of the Ministry of Finance; His Exellency Sultan Rashid al-Khater, the representative of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; and Nasser Ahmed al-Shaibi, the Gulf Times reports.

Furthermore, the membership of the board is four years renewable for a period or other similar periods. 

The decision will come to effect from June 19 starting would be published in the official gazette.
