The Vice-Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, awarded scholarships to three students who attend UCL Qatar in acknowledgement of their academic achievements to date, on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that the UCL Qatar Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement prior to commencing their studies at the QF partner university.

Further, the students are selected by the Scholarship Panel of the university, led by UCL Qatar Director Dr. Sam Evans, from those accepted onto UCL Qatar Master’s programs.

Dr Sam stated that UCL is one of the world’s leading universities, founded in London to open up education to all on equal terms.

He added that UCL Qatar’s academic scholarships recognise the talent, potential, dedication and commitment among the top students who are pursuing advanced studies in cultural heritage.

As The Peninsula reports, the awards encourage the brightest academic minds, who demonstrate a strong potential for research and academic excellence, to achieve the highest standards in their chosen disciplines of study.

The awarded students for this year include Eman Al Shamari (MA Library and Information Studies), Elena Terranova (MA Museum and Gallery Practice) and Suzanne Mirgani (MA Museum and Gallery Practice).

As a matter of fact, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind was given a guided tour of the UCL Qatar facility, situated in the Georgetown University building, by the director accompanied by a number of teaching staff, before attending a buffet lunch with staff and students.
