Chinese Company to Manufacture 'Smart Jacket' for Workers in Qatar

Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and Chinese company Nuctech have signed an agreement to manufacture smart jacket for workers in Qatar. Nuctech will take patent for a number of devices innovated by Lekhwiya under the agreement, said a report in QNA. 

 

The smart jacket will feature a helmet cooling system and a chip that assess the risk factors like excessive stress or increased heart rate or abnormal breathing. It will send a warning to control room, if required, based on the worker's condition. The solar-powered jacket includes a tracker and voice dialing.    

The devices to be developed under the agreement include various safety devices for construction workers, intelligent eye sensor, automatic explosive and drug detection device, Nuctech cross-sectional scanning device and the intelligent security fence.

Major Ali Hassan Al Rashed, Lekhwiya's commander of the security technologies brigade and Wang Weidong, vice president of  Nuctech signed the agreement in the presence of  H.E. Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs and a delegation from  International Labor Organization.
