An Oman Air Flight to the Philippines experienced low air pressure inside the cabin and oxygen masks onboard were automatically activated, reported Times of Oman. The incident occurred as Oman Air flight WY843 from Muscat was approaching Manila international airport. The airline has not revealed the reason for the low air pressure.

Low air pressure inside the flight’s cabin can cause breathing difficulties for the passengers and oxygen masks will be activated as a standard operating procedure. It may be caused due to technical problems with the pressurization system or breaches in the aircraft like cracks in windows or the fuselage or incorrectly sealed doors which allows air to escape.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the airline apologized to the customers for the inconvenience and thanked thanked all support services for helping in the safe landing of the flight and disembarking of passengers and crew.
