LuLu Group, which runs hypermarkets in GCC, Egypt and India, eyes to expand its footprints in South East Asia with setting shop in the Philippines along with Malaysia and Thailand. It has already started operations in the region with two stores in Indonesia.

Charito Plaza, director general of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), informed that Lulu officials has made a visit to the country exploring the investment opportunities, said a report in The Manila Times.

“They will also be putting up warehouses and will start looking at possible agricultural areas or agricultural economic zones where they can raise their vegetables and other crops and put up other processing industries to distribute to their different branches in the world,” the report quoted Plaza as saying.

Authority will be assisting them in finding possible agro-industrial ecozones and PEZA in Angeles is being zeroed in as a possible location for a warehouse, Plaza added.
